Black Jeans

Black and white have always been my two favorite colors, so naturally I have been on the hunt for a pair of casual black jeans. I have probably tried on a million pairs and styles of black jeans, some with zippers or unique stitching, some cropped, some long, some skinny, some flared, but I ended up loving this pair from Gap. I love the high waisted fit and skinny legs, especially in the flattering black wash. The distressed knees gives these black jeans a subtle casual look, but can still be easily dressed up with the right top and shoes. I dressed these casual black jeans up with a basic white blouse, tucked in the front to show off the high waist and skinny fit, and my favorite pair of black and white pumps. These jeans fit true to size in the waist, but the inseam runs longer, so alterations might need to be made for length. They are also made with a thicker denim that does not allow as much stretch as some thinner denim material. Check gap.com to see their latest denim promotion!  xoxo

Fringe

Fringe has been showing up everywhere for fall and I am loving it. My fringe obsession really started after purchasing a white fringe jacket at Neiman Marcus and these booties at Nordstrom. Last week I visited y&i and the first thing I noticed when I walked in the door was a pair of suede fringe shorts. I normally would not go for the edgy shorts, but I knew they would go so well with my new booties from Nordstrom. I paired the shorts with an oversized white tank, black lace bralette, and gold jewelry. This look is perfect for the awkward transition weather from summer to fall and the suede shorts were extremely comfortable and easy to move in. Shop y&i online or in West Village (Dallas) for these shorts in more colors as well as other fringe looks! xoxo

Bell Bottom Jeans

This weekend was the Dallas Blogger Collective’s first birthday and we spent the day celebrating at Rio Ritz Boutique. I finally learned how to make those adorable floral crowns with Kelley of The Style Barn and enjoyed shopping the new arrivals at Rio Ritz. Kelley has the best 1970s style, and she finally convinced me to give bell bottom jeans a try for the first time since middle school. I found these Pilcro Superscript Flare Jeans on sale at Anthropologie and they were the perfect fit. Paired with wedges and a silk front tie blouse, these jeans are a flattering flashback to the 70s. xoxo

Distressed Denim

Would you believe that this is the first pair of distressed denim jeans I have ever own? My parents have always made fun of the idea of buying jeans that are already torn up. When I saw these jeans at Gap I was a little hesitant to try them out but they were so affordable, I just had to give them a try. These jeans fit wonderfully and the holes near the knees actually make it easier to move in skinny cut jeans. The distressed denim look is obviously more casual and not appropriate for all situations, but is also surprisingly easy to dress up. For a day look I paired my distressed denim with a chambray top from cloth and stone, and thick heeled sandals from Vince. I have also transitioned the distressed denim into more of an evening look with a silk tank, platform heels, and a blazer when it gets cooler. Check out all the distressed denim jeans at gap.com! xoxo

Palm Dress

Palm Dress: Topshop for Nordstrom // Jacket: ASOS // Shoes: ASOS //Purse: Kate Spade // Sunglasses: Oscar de la Renta // Earrings: Anthropologie

Last week a colleague of mine described this dress and jacket combo as the “Palm Beach Babe” look. While I was unaware of the “Palm Beach Babe” look, I think I might start embracing it. Recently I have been loving the palm leaf or banana leaf prints mixed with white accents. I found this palm dress at Nordstrom and paired it with my ASOS white shoes and cropped jacket. This look is great for the office in the summer, because it pairs well with or without a jacket. The palm dress can also be dressed down with sandals for a more casual beach look. Shop my favorite palm looks below! xoxo
