Easter Dress

Easter is just around the corner, April 16th to be exact! Last year I totally forgot about an Easter dress and ended up wearing a dress from the very back of my closet (I’m talking freshman year of college back of closet ha). I was thrilled to find this adorable tweed dress on the sale rack of J.Crew and promised myself that I had to save it for Easter! This dress fits true to size (wearing a size 0) and comes in navy, white, and red (the red has an orange tint). Dallas weather is very unpredictable so it is risky to buy a sleeveless dress for a specific spring day. Luckily this dress is fitted at the waist, so it pairs nicely with a cropped jacket, and looks great with open or closed toe shoes. I have linked my favorite tweed dresses for Easter below, and they are all on SALE! xoxo

Dress: Nordstrom // Shoes: Dolce Vita // Necklace: BaubleBar // Bracelets: Kendra Scott

I am a total sucker for a black dress (my closet is full of them) but I especially love a casual black dress. I found this casual black dress at Nordstrom for less than $50 and it is absolutely perfect for everyday wear. It fits true to size (wearing a small) and is cut to hang loose. This dress also comes in blue, peach, lavender and maroon. I also found these Dolce Vita mules at Nordstrom as well (they fit true to size, I am wearing a size 8) and love the laser cut detail. These mules are also so comfortable for everyday wear because of the thicker heel, soft leather and extra cushion under the ball of the foot. This casual black dress is currently in stock, but has been selling out quickly! Also, if you are ever in the Highland Park area be sure to stop by Royal Blue Grocery. It is one of my favorite spots to stop for coffee and a sweet treat. They also have a large selection of unique wine, food and flowers that make great gifts! xoxo

This weekend it was a balmy 80 degrees in Dallas, so naturally I pulled this floral wrap dress out from my spring stash for a patio brunch. I was more than ready to give my sweaters a break and feel the sunshine on my skin. Nordstrom has a ton of gorgeous floral dresses in stock, but of course I went for the black option. This dress fits true to size (wearing a small) fitting tighter through the chest and ribs, and lose through the waist, hips, and sleeves. I would caution against wearing this dress on a windy day as it blows up very easily and no one wants that! I paired the floral wrap dress with these adorable Dolce Vita laser cut mules, and black BaubleBar tassel earrings. I was nervous that these mules would give me blisters, but they are way more comfortable than I expected. The leather is soft, so it does not rub against my toes when I walk. They also have extra padding on the heel and ball of the foot. These BaubleBar tassel earrings come in 13 different colors and are only $36. They do pull on my ears a little, but I am still able to wear them all day without noticing the weight too much. If your ears are more sensitive to weight, there is a smaller version of these tassel earrings that is much lighter but still just as fun. To match the pink floral pattern in the dress, I am wearing my favorite Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Dolce, and Chanel nail polish in Ballerina. I have linked everything you need to get this spring look below, and hopefully we continue having more 80 degree weekends! xoxo

Valentine’s Outfits

Sweater: H&M // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Charles Jourdan (similar) // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Necklace: Moon & Lola // Lipstick: Chanel Lip Definer #57 and Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Sarafine

Valentine’s Day is only a week away! While my date night with Alex will consist of cooking and watching movies in leggings and a sweatshirt (a much needed night in), I am sharing my two favorite Valentine’s outfits for any date. My first Valentine’s outfit is more casual and is perfect for dinner, a movie or to wear to the office. I found this knit sweater last year at H&M, and it is back in stock for under $20. It goes perfectly with dark denim for winter and white/light denim for chilly spring days. I added my favorite red heels (similar) and a classic red lip to make this light pink sweater a little more festive. After years of struggling with red lipstick (especially in dance competitions) I have finally mastered a non-messy red lip that will last all day. I start by lining my lips with Chanel Lip Definer #57, the color is very versatile and I love the thin brush at the end of the pencil. After lining my lips I fill in with Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Sarafine and use the brush on the end of the Chanel lip pencil to evenly spread the color, I like this color because it has blue undertones and will make your teeth look whiter. This liquid lipstick is great because it dries matte and will last for hours, even through meals. However, I recommend removing and reapplying the lipstick (with chapstick) after about 4-5 hours, because it will start to dry out your lips.

My second Valentine’s outfit is little dressier, for a nice dinner or night out. This light pink flounce dress is only $60 and can easily be dressed up or down depending on your accessories. This fabric of the dress has a great weight and it has pockets (major win), I only wish it came in more colors, specifically black. The dress fits very loose, so I am wearing an XS because it fit best in the arms. I kept this look simple by just adding red heels and a stack of gold bracelets, but it can also be dressed up with a statement necklace, structured jacket, or strappy heels. If you have a more casual evening planned, but still want to wear a dress, you can dress this look down with a denim jacket, wedges or mules, and minimal jewelry. Both of these looks are also great for a Galentine’s party or a festive Valentines look for the office. I have linked everything you need to recreate these Valentine’s outfits below! xoxo

Christmas Sweater

Vest: Vintage Michael Simon (from Monna’s closet) // Sweater: Vince // Leggings: Nordstrom // Boots: ASOS

Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday, and the holiday season is my favorite time of the year. I love the cheerful decorations, the spirit of giving, and the excuse to wear Christmas sweaters and excessive plaid all month long! My favorite holiday sweater is a nutcracker vest I borrowed from my grandmother (Monna). She has had this Michael Simon knit vest from Neiman Marcus for years and I have always admired the detail of the stitching on each nutcracker. I layered the vest with a black v-neck Vince sweater and my favorite faux leather leggings from Hue. To add some texture and warmth to my all black look, I wore my suede over the knee boots from ASOS. Since this vest is no long available for purchase, I have linked some of my Christmas sweaters below. Enjoy the holiday season! xoxo

Bell Sleeve Dress

Dress: ASTR // Shoes: Charles David // Clutch: Elements Dallas // Choker: Vanessa Mooney // Sunnies: Karen Walker

Surprise, I found yet another black dress that I could not pass up! I saw this ASTR dress at Nordstrom, and knew the long sleeves would be perfect for fall and winter weather. The bell sleeves give a fun nod to the 70s, but are not so large that they become unflattering. The length of the dress is perfect to pair with any pair of heels, flats, over the knee boots, or even with tights. For a warmer option, I would style this dress with these black over the knee boots I found at ASOS. I am wearing a small and it fits true to size. The lace up front gives the dress personality without being too low cut or loose enough to gape open. I added a thick velvet choker from Vanessa Mooney to complete the lace up neckline. This ASTR bell sleeve dress also comes in a gorgeous olive color as well. Shop my entire look and some similar dresses below! xoxo
