Cactus Scarf

Cactus Scarf - A Pearl Kind of GirlCactus Scarf - A Pearl Kind of GirlCactus Scarf - A Pearl Kind of GirlCactus Scarf - A Pearl Kind of GirlCactus Scarf - A Pearl Kind of GirlCactus Scarf - A Pearl Kind of GirlCactus Scarf - A Pearl Kind of Girl

Tee: Urban Outfitters // Jeans: Gap // Scarf: Sole Society // Shoes: Marc Fisher // Sunnies: J.Crew

I am all about silk neck scarves, especially when I find a cactus scarf! This light pink and green cactus scarf is from Sole Society and is less than $35. It is the perfect addition to any simple outfit and is great if you love cactus themed things as much as me. I like to pair it with a black dress and denim jacket or a white tee and dark jeans (shown above). If you haven’t noticed this Urban Outfitters tee is my favorite! I own it in seven different colors (whoops) and I wear it multiple times a week. I also love these Marc Fisher flatform shoes, they come in five different colors and are just as easy to walk in as wedges. Shop my favorite tee, flatforms and cactus scarf below! xoxo

Flounce Midi Dress

Dress: Nordstrom // Shoes: Nordstrom // Sunnies: Karen Walker

In February I shared this flounce midi dress in pink for Valentine’s Day, and now the same flounce midi dress is back in stock and is also available in black and white. I normally do not buy much pink, but I loved the cut and fit of this dress. Naturally when I saw it was available in black and white, I could not get my hands on the black version fast enough! This dress fits loose, so I recommend going a size down (wearing an extra small) to make sure the dress fits in the neck and arms. I love the loose fit for the 80 degree days that are becoming more frequent again here in Dallas. This dress is easy to dress up with wedges or chunky heels, or dress down with a pair of flats. I went with a more casual look by pairing this dress with a pair of pearl studded black slides. These slides are under $70 and come in both black and tan. Of course I picked them because I cannot turn down pearls, but they are so easy to throw on, and pair well with so many outfits. They fit true to size (wearing a size 8) and come in half sizes too. I’ve linked everything you need to get this look below! xoxo

Texas Tulips

Dress: J.Crew // Shoes: Marc Fisher // Bracelets: Kendra Scott

Happy first day of spring! A few weeks ago I made a trip up to Pilot Point to visit Texas Tulips. We went a little early in the season, so not all the tulips were blooming. None the less there were already full rows of all different kinds of tulips! I mainly picked the deep purple tulips with a few white ones mixed in. Even though it was windy and a bit overcast, I decided that I needed to wear white to pick tulips. I wore this ruffle sleeve shift dress from J.Crew. This dress fits loose (wearing a size 0) and I love the detail around the neck and hem. Since this dress is white, I was nervous that it would be see through, but it is very well lined and the cotton material is thicker than I expected. If you tend to spill something every time you wear white, this dress also comes in navy. I paired it with my favorite Marc Fisher flatforms and simple gold jewelry. If you are interested in visiting Texas Tulips, they are open 7 days a week, and admission is $3, each tulip you pick is $2.50. I have linked all my outfit details for you below! xoxo

Casual Black Dress

Dress: Nordstrom // Shoes: Dolce Vita // Necklace: BaubleBar // Bracelets: Kendra Scott

I am a total sucker for a black dress (my closet is full of them) but I especially love a casual black dress. I found this casual black dress at Nordstrom for less than $50 and it is absolutely perfect for everyday wear. It fits true to size (wearing a small) and is cut to hang loose. This dress also comes in blue, peach, lavender and maroon. I also found these Dolce Vita mules at Nordstrom as well (they fit true to size, I am wearing a size 8) and love the laser cut detail. These mules are also so comfortable for everyday wear because of the thicker heel, soft leather and extra cushion under the ball of the foot. This casual black dress is currently in stock, but has been selling out quickly! Also, if you are ever in the Highland Park area be sure to stop by Royal Blue Grocery. It is one of my favorite spots to stop for coffee and a sweet treat. They also have a large selection of unique wine, food and flowers that make great gifts! xoxo

Texas Independence Day

Texas Independence Day - A Pearl Kind of GirlTexas Independence Day - A Pearl Kind of GirlTexas Independence Day - A Pearl Kind of GirlTexas Independence Day - A Pearl Kind of GirlTexas Independence Day - A Pearl Kind of GirlTexas Independence Day - A Pearl Kind of Girl

Tee: Etsy // Jeans: Gap // Earrings: Kate Spade (similar) // Boots: Corral Vintage (similar)

Happy Texas Independence Day! While to the majority today is just the second of March, I grew up in a house that celebrated Texas Independence Day. To show my Texas pride I pulled out one of my many Texas tees. This tee comes in four colors (black, white, light grey, and heather grey) and has a comfortable lose fit (wearing a small). The Easy shop FamousBasics has some great simple tees, but this was my favorite for obvious reasons. I paired the tee with my favorite pair of classic skinny jeans from Gap and my black cowboy boots. I have had these Corral Vintage cowboy boots (similar) for years and they have held up really well through plenty of wear and tear (I am on the hunt for a new pair of brown boots, send your suggestions my way!). To complete my look, I added these fun Kate Spade armadillo earrings. They are a few years old, but I linked a similar pair in silver. I have linked this look and some similar tees below, so you can show your Texas pride! P.S. sorry the sun was going down while shooting this look, but I had to get in one “horns down” picture as a former OU Sooner 🙂 xoxo

Floral Wrap Dress

Dress: Nordstrom // Shoes: Dolce Vita // Earrings: BaubleBar // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Lips: Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Dolce // Nails: Chanel in Ballerina

This weekend it was a balmy 80 degrees in Dallas, so naturally I pulled this floral wrap dress out from my spring stash for a patio brunch. I was more than ready to give my sweaters a break and feel the sunshine on my skin. Nordstrom has a ton of gorgeous floral dresses in stock, but of course I went for the black option. This dress fits true to size (wearing a small) fitting tighter through the chest and ribs, and lose through the waist, hips, and sleeves. I would caution against wearing this dress on a windy day as it blows up very easily and no one wants that! I paired the floral wrap dress with these adorable Dolce Vita laser cut mules, and black BaubleBar tassel earrings. I was nervous that these mules would give me blisters, but they are way more comfortable than I expected. The leather is soft, so it does not rub against my toes when I walk. They also have extra padding on the heel and ball of the foot. These BaubleBar tassel earrings come in 13 different colors and are only $36. They do pull on my ears a little, but I am still able to wear them all day without noticing the weight too much. If your ears are more sensitive to weight, there is a smaller version of these tassel earrings that is much lighter but still just as fun. To match the pink floral pattern in the dress, I am wearing my favorite Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Dolce, and Chanel nail polish in Ballerina. I have linked everything you need to get this spring look below, and hopefully we continue having more 80 degree weekends! xoxo
