Drybar

edit-4344edit-4369edit-4362

The Drybar recently opened a new location in Grapevine, Texas and offered a great Groupon deal (get the deal here before it closes)! The Drybar does a wonderful job washing and styling all types of hair. They offer styles for everyone, but I went with the Southern Comfort, because it is very similar to my daily hairstyle. I also received a deep condition to help restore my hair. Search the Drybar’s fifty plus locations here to find the one nearest you! xoxo

White Blazer

Blazer: ASOS // Tank: J.Crew // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Neiman Marcus // Bag: Neiman Marcus

One of the most useful pieces I keep in my closet is this basic white blazer. It is great for all season and can easily be dressed up or down. For a typical and chilly workday, I paired the blazer with a nude tank from J.Crew and light wash, high waisted jeans from Gap. I ordered a size 2 in the blazer because the sleeves run a little short and 25 long in the jeans so I could cuff the ends. These Charles David pumps from Neiman Marcus were also a great basic addition to my closet. I bought them in black and loved them so much I went back and got them in nude. They fit true to size (wearing size 8) and the platform makes them comfortable enough to wear all day. Shop my favorite white blazers below! xoxo

Longline Coat

Coat: Forever 21 // Shirt: Banana Republic // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Neiman Marcus

Hard to believe that Dallas had 80 degree temperatures just two weeks ago. When the freezing temperatures finally hit Dallas, I realized I needed a new coat. This longline coat from Forever 21 immediately stuck out to me because of the deep crimson color. This coat has a wide hood that blends into the wide lapels and a front tie that is flattering for the waistline. I also love this silk blouse from Banana Republic with tie on the neckline, it also comes in grey, red and chartreuse. The overall length (including arm length) on both the coat and blouse are perfect for me. I ordered a small in the coat and a zero in the blouse. Shop more of my favorite longline coats below! xoxo

2015 has been a great year with so many new adventures! I graduated from college, moved back to Dallas, and started a new job. All these great adventures did not leave much time for A Pearl Kind of Girl, but these were my 12 favorite looks from the past year. Excited to see what 2016 brings for me and A Pearl Kind of Girl.  Wishing you and yours a blessed 2016! xoxo

Beauty Must Haves

edit-0629

edit-0641

These six products are my must haves for any cosmetic bag. I use them daily and have become dependent on their consistent results. While some products (Blush, CC Cream and Lipstick) might not work with your skin tone, these brands have variations of each product suitable of different skin tones.

Benefit Cosmetics Dallas Blush: This blush gives the perfect “sun kissed” glow and is great for light to medium skin tones. It can also be used as a light bronzer for a more even glow.

Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara: This is my go to mascara for instant long and full lashes. It darkens lashes without the extra help of liner and lasts all day.

Chanel CC Cream: This cream moisturizes skin, evens skin tone, protects from UV rays (SPF 50), and is so light weight you will never know you are wearing it. I wear the middle shade, number 30 beige, and it blends perfectly with my skin tone.

Glam Glow Powermud Dualcleanse: I use this cleanser once or twice weekly to remove deep build up of oil, dirt and makeup. Powermud  is a mud to oil cleanser, so it is more gentle than some scrubs.

Chanel Lipstick (Envoúante): This is my absolute favorite lip color that lasts through the whole day. It looks darker, but actually wears as a deep maroon with a dark purple undertone.

Teasing Comb: Everyone needs a teasing comb, no matter the texture of your hair. I use it to add extra volume in both straight and curled styles.
