Floral Maxi Dress

Dress: Free People // Shoes: Zara (similar) // Clutch: J.Crew // Necklace: Gorjana // Earrings: Anthropologie (similar)

When I was little, I used to pick out my dresses based on the “twirl test”. I would stand in the middle of my room, and spin as fast as I could, to see how much wind my dress would catch. Every now and then I will try on a dress and catch myself spinning around in the fitting room. When I passed this floral maxi dress on a mannequin in Nordstrom, I just had to see how it would twirl!

This floral maxi dress fits true to size (wearing a small) and is the perfect length for almost any height. If you are shorter than 5’3″ you will probably need to have this dressed hemmed to keep it from over powering you. The chest area does run a little large, so you might want to try a size smaller if you have a smaller chest. I love the button detail down the back of the dress especially because you can put on the dress without having do undo a single button. There is a zipper (on the side) and hooks (in front) that make this dress easy to put on and take off. It also comes in a rust red color with darker flowers that is perfect for fall. Since there is so much material to this dress, it kind of speaks for itself and does not need to be over accessorized. This dress goes great with simple sandals or heels, so I paired it with my favorite strappy nude sandals (similar). I added a simple gold necklace, my favorite gold hoops (similar), and a woven clutch to complete the look. Shop this look below! xoxo

Palm Crop Top

Regardless of what the calendar says, I say summer starts on June 1st. That means it is time to break out all the palm print tops and straw accessories. I found this palm crop top during a lunch-time Zara run and loved the detail of the embroidery as well as the structure of the sleeves. It fits true to size (wearing a small) and is long enough to hit the top of my high waisted jeans. Unlike many white tops, the material is not thin or see through. This palm crop top looks best with skinny jeans, shorts, or a tight fitting skirt. Since it fits loose and the sleeves are a little puffy, it does not pair well with loose fitting pants or skirts. I chose to pair it with my favorite high waisted skinny jeans and classic nude heels. Since I have declared it to be summer, I traded in my large shoulder bag for this straw clutch. I found this clutch last year at J.Crew and have carried it much more than I thought I would. Luckily they brought back the exact same clutch this year and even added a pink version. Shop this look and a few other summer favorites below! xoxo

Easter Dress

Easter is just around the corner, April 16th to be exact! Last year I totally forgot about an Easter dress and ended up wearing a dress from the very back of my closet (I’m talking freshman year of college back of closet ha). I was thrilled to find this adorable tweed dress on the sale rack of J.Crew and promised myself that I had to save it for Easter! This dress fits true to size (wearing a size 0) and comes in navy, white, and red (the red has an orange tint). Dallas weather is very unpredictable so it is risky to buy a sleeveless dress for a specific spring day. Luckily this dress is fitted at the waist, so it pairs nicely with a cropped jacket, and looks great with open or closed toe shoes. I have linked my favorite tweed dresses for Easter below, and they are all on SALE! xoxo

Black Slip Dress for a Night Out

edit-1950edit-1646edit-1783edit-1820edit-1805edit-1661edit-1796edit-1450

Dress: Topshop // Jacket: Nordstrom // Scarf: Zara // Shoes: Charles David // Earrings: BaubleBar // Clutch: Elements Dallas // Sunnies: Karen Walker

Last week I shared this versatile black slip dress, and how I like to style it for the day as well as for the evening. The third way I like to style this simple slip dress is for a night out. The length and lightweight material of this dress makes it easy to wear with almost any shoe including these black leather pumps. To tie in the pumps I added this faux leather moto jacket from Nordstrom (also comes in a beautiful olive green). I am wearing a size small in the jacket and the sleeves are a bit longer than I would like, but I could easily wear a sweater under the jacket. I dressed up this look with my favorite statement earrings from BaubleBar, a star patterned neck scarf, and a beaded clutch from Elements on Lovers Lane in Dallas. These earrings are an easy way to dress up any look and do not pull on my ears. They also come in mint, white, and yellow. I am loving the scarf trend right now, and found some cute (and affordable) options at Zara, such as this black and white star scarf. Shop everything from this look below! xoxo

Oversized Oxford

Shirt: Zara // Jeans: Gap // Heels: Charles David

The other day while looking in my closet, I noticed I have added a significant amount of blue to my wardrobe compared to the overwhelming amount of black I own. I guess all the blue and white means I have officially transitioned into summer! I found this blue and white oversized oxford at Zara to add to my growing collection. The lightweight cotton material is perfect for going from the hot Dallas sun to the icy AC indoors. I am wearing a size extra small and it is still has the oversized look. This oversized oxford will be great for transitioning to fall with some added layers, because it has long sleeves. I paired it with my favorite distressed jeans from Gap and classic nude heels from Neiman Marcus. Shop more of my favorite blue and white oversized oxfords below! xoxo

Blue and White Striped Dress

Dress: Zara // Shoes: Kate Spade (similar) // Sunnies: Karen Walker

The other day I passed Zara in the Dallas Galleria, and thought I would just window shop. Joke is on me, I ended up in line with my arms full. This blue and white striped dress was among my finds for under $40. The length, cotton fabric and sleeveless cut are perfect for summer. I also love the fact that this dress has pockets, since I never know what to do with my hands. This dress is no longer online, but is still available in stores, if you go to Dallas Galleria, it is on the wall to the far left when you walk in. I am wearing an extra small, since it fits loose. The extra small is still plenty long, even for long legs and wearing heels. Shop more blue and white striped dresses below! xoxo
