Fragrance: Ralph Lauren Red // Giftwrap: Sugar Paper LA

This year I wanted to give my boyfriend new cologne for Christmas, but purchasing a fragrance for someone else can be very difficult. I started my search with Ralph Lauren, because I have found Ralph Lauren Romance to be my favorite fragrance. After sampling both Ralph Lauren Polo Blue and Ralph Lauren Polo Red, I decided that Ralph Lauren Polo Red was the perfect fragrance to give him. The Polo Red fragrance is a blend of red saffron, grapefruit and deep nodes of redwood, it is the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. I just purchased a large bottle of cologne to make sure he liked the scent first, but Ralph Lauren has some great gift sets that I will be purchasing in the future. I ended up going back to purchase the Polo Blue fragrance for my brother, because I thought it suited him better than the Polo Red fragrance. The Polo Blue fragrance is a the perfect blend of bergamot and vetiver, which has a more fresh scent.

My favorite gift wrap collection the past two years has been the Sugar Paper LA collection at Target. I had a few things left over from last years collection, like the black and white ribbon, but the craft and gold foil wrapping paper was my favorite item from this years collection. There is seriously little color in my closet, and for the longest time I have tried to add more color and failed. I have specifically searched for a versatile red dress in the past and finally found the perfect structured red dress at Banana Republic. I love the collar detail and hidden buttons all the way down the front of the dress. The pockets were of course a huge selling point for me, because everyone loves a dress with pockets! I ordered this dress in a size 0 and it fits well everywhere, but is a little tighter than I would like under the arms. The dress has a more tailored cut, but is still easy to move and walk in and is a great length for sitting.

I paired the structured red dress with 4 inch sandal heels (wearing size 8, fits true to size), but it could easily be paired with closed toe pumps for cooler temperatures. This black and gold clutch from Banana Republic went perfectly with my heels and is large enough to hold everything I need for a night out! I also found some simple gold jewelry at Banana Republic, including these hoop earrings and this bracelet (took me a while to figure out the clasp). Happy Fourth of July! I know I usually post Weekend Words of Wisdom on Saturdays, but I thought I would mix it up a little for the holiday. Every year my family spends the fourth of July at our lake house eating endless amount of barbecue and homemade ice cream. Luckily the temperatures are mild enough (at least for a July in Texas) to continue wearing my white jeans. Usually there is not much color in my closet, but I have been making an effort to buy colors other than black and white. This tank from J.Crew is on of my favorites, so naturally I bought it in every color, including black and white.
