French Colors Sweatshirt

edit-8079edit-7980edit-8346edit-8157edit-8391edit-7961edit-8216

Sweatshirt: J.Crew // Leggings: Lululemon // Shoes: Nike // Sunnies: Karen Walker

There are just those days when you need to get things accomplished, and about half my days are spent running around trying to cross things off my to do list. On days like these, I dress more casual than usual and typically go for an outfit very similar to this one.
I saw this french colors sweatshirt in J.Crew last week (I was really looking for a dress, whoops) and took it straight to the register without even trying it on. I am wearing a XS, because I like the cropped fit, but I recommend going about two sizes up if you like the oversized look for sweatshirts. I love the simplicity of the sweatshirt while still being a fun conversation starter. These leggings from Lululemon are my absolute favorite, because they are high waisted and have pockets on the sides (total game changer). I am wearing a size 4 in the leggings. If you have never shopped at Lululemon before, I recommend checking their size guide because their clothes run small. While I love my heels, I also love my white Nikes. I have a weird affinity for white tennis shoes and my sweet coworkers picked these out for me. My outfit wouldn’t be complete without my everyday vintage Louis Vuitton, Karen Walker sunnies and a grande Starbucks coffee. I usually stick to a classic grande pike place with non-fat milk, but if I am feeling adventurous I will get a skinny chi tea latte (hot or cold), or and iced unsweet green tea with two scoops of matcha. Below I have linked my favorite leggings, sweatshirts, Nikes, and sunnies to help you conquer your to-do list! xoxo

Shake Shack Dallas

Shake Shack opened at the Crescent in Dallas a few weeks ago, and this past weekend I finally had time to stop by! I enjoyed the classic ShackBurger with a chocolate shake, and my photographer had the Link Burger with a raspberry limeade (we shared the fries). I had to steal a delicious bite of the Link Burger, since it is specific to the Dallas location and topped with jalapeño cheese sausage from Pecan Lodge (yum!). Shake Shack is on the corner of Pearl St and McKinney Ave, opposite of Morton’s Steakhouse, and has an extensive patio and lawn to make up for the smaller building. The majority of the lawn (where we sat) has tree coverage which makes the outdoor seating bearable even in 90-100 degree heat. There is also plenty of space for kids to run and a few lawn games. Since indoor seating is limited, I recommend going on a day when you do not mind sitting outside.
When I went to Shake Shack Dallas, I wore one of my go-to outfits for day to day. I am wearing my favorite tee shirt from Urban Outfitters layered with a Calvin Klein bralette, both of which I own in multiple colors. I am wearing size small in the tee, and it fits long and loose enough to half tuck. I do recommend letting this tee air dry because it will shrink in the dryer. I am also wearing these super cute flower motif leggings from LuLu Lemon. I love the high waist fit and the open detail along the back of the legs. I am wearing a size four in these leggings since LuLu Lemon tends to run small, and recommend going a size up. I tied this black and white look together with my white Nikes and oversized Karen Walker sunnies. These lifestyle tennis shoes are perfect for a day exploring town, and have the most comfortable soles. Be sure to check out Shake Shack Dallas and shop my entire look below! xoxo

Monday Moment: Fitness Routine

edited-3edited-4

Top: Gap // Shorts: Gap // Shoes: Nike

I have been so busy recently that this past week was the first time I realized swimsuit season is here! Since I am just now focusing on the fact that I might have to wear a bikini soon (ekk!) it is time to step up my workout routine. When I have time to go to the gym, I like to focus on cardio and usually stick to an interval routine. I typically use the stair stepper or a treadmill at a high incline in order to get the most out of my cardio intervals. POPSUGAR has some great treadmill routines that I like to alternate between.

I use a few weight machines at the gym, but I try my best to do a weight routine every morning during the week. It is a goal to do a full weight workout every morning after breakfast, but let’s honest, I am not perfect so it is rare when I do this every day during a week. I use the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Workout guide for most of my routine. Kayla’s guide is a great investment with circuits to target every area and they are easy to do at home. I also love Barefoot Blonde’s ab video (linked below) because it is a very practical ab workout and you will see results quickly. I use eight pound weights most of the time and try to do anywhere between 50 to 200 reps (depending on the amount of sleep I got the night before).

I am wearing the mesh-stripe racerback tank and gFit running shorts in my workout pictured above. I mentioned last week that I swear by the racerback tank from Gap and own it in multiple colors! xoxo

Active Wear: The Dog Walker

editededited-4edited-3editedd

Top: Gap // Shorts: Old Navy/Gap // Shoes: Nike // Sunglasses: Oscar de la Renta

The rain has finally stopped (at least for a while) in Dallas, and I can finally get back outside. One of my favorite ways to stay active in the summer is walking my golden retriever, Scout. It is nice to take a break from the gym, get some sun, and enjoy the company of my puppy. I never realize how good of an arm workout it is to walk my dog (or in this case have him walk me) until we get back and my arms feel like jello!

I basically live in athletic clothes when I can, but I hate spending a small fortune on clothes I plan to sweat in. I recently discovered Gap’s GapFit line of athletic clothes that they offer at a very reasonable price. I love this mesh-stripe racerback top so much that I ended up buying it in every color. I also love their patterned shorts, because they add to my otherwise boring grey color scheme. I have never owned a pair of tennis shoes that were not white, maybe some day I will branch out, but until then I am loving my grey and white Nikes. For more affordable athletic clothes, check out Athlea, Fabletics, H&M, and GapFit.  xoxo
