Olive Pants

Top: Anthropologie // Pants: J.Crew // Shoes: Dolce Vita // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff // Bracelet: Gorjana // Sunnies: Karen Walker

The only thing I hate about a Texas summer is having to go from 90+ degree temperatures outside, to 60-70 degree temperatures inside. If it was up to me I would sit outside and sunbath all day, but instead I carry a jacket just about everywhere. These olive pants are a great solution to this temperature problem, especially for the office. They can easily be dressed up with heels, or dressed down with sandals and are light weight enough for 90+ degree weather. They fit true to size (wearing a 0) and come in four different colors. I have not tried on the white version, but I do not have an issue with the olive version being too thin. I gave these olive pants a more casual look by pairing them with a simple white crop top from Anthropologie. This top is currently on sale for less than $40, fits true to size (wearing a small), and is a great layering piece. Since I have a relatively short torso, I am still able to wear this cropped top without showing any midriff. This top is also 100% cotton jersey, so it is great for the heat, and there is no issue with it being see through.

About a week ago I shared these Dolce Vita mules, then last week I shared these Dolce Vita sneakers… well I am on a roll with the Dolce Vita shoes. These mules are just as comfortable as the other two shoes I shared earlier, and they fit true to size (wearing size 8). I love the laser cut leather and the distressed heel. You will never know if I scuff these heels (insert smirking emoji). I found these Dolce Vita mules at Nordstrom Rack for less than $90, total steal. I also seem to be on a roll with Rebecca Minkoff bags (whoops). I really bought this saddle bag for Austin City Limits in October, but couldn’t wait to carry it (another whoops). I love the braid and fringe detail on the front and the adjustable shoulder strap. Shop this look below! xoxo

White Bomber

Even though it has been 90 degrees everyday this week in Dallas, my mind is someplace cooler. I am planning a trip someplace far north of Dallas for the middle of July, and I have started stocking up on casual layers. I found some great pieces on sale, but my favorite is this white bomber jacket from Anthropologie. It is currently on sale for less than $50 (total steal!) and comes in four bright colors. Of course I went for the white bomber, but I love the navy color as well. It fits true to size (I am wearing a small), and it is lightweight enough for spring and summer (well probably not in Texas). I paired the bomber with my favorite tee from Urban Outfitters (wearing a small, it fits loose) and distressed black jeans from J.Crew. These jeans are so comfortable to wear because they stretch well. I also love the cropped and high-waisted fit (wearing size 26 regular). My only complaint about the black jeans is they will pick up lint easily, and I have to ask for a black napkin in restaurants. These jeans also come in white (perfect for summer), and lint does not seem to be as big of an issue on them. My upcoming trip will probably involve quite a bit of walking, so I have been on the hunt for some fun but comfortable shoes. I love the look of platform sneakers, but found that most caused blisters or are just not comfortable. These Dolce Vita sneakers were by far the most comfortable pair I tried on, and they are on sale for less than $100! They come in three colors, but if you have seen any of my athletic shoes, you know I only own white sneakers. These sneakers fit true to size (wearing an 8), and the canvas material is easy to keep clean with a Tide To Go stick which I always carry with me. Shop the entire look below! xoxo

Black Off-The-Shoulder Top

About a month ago I took a whirlwind trip to New York City (shared more about my trip here) with two coworkers. Before heading home, we took advantage of our noon flight and spent the morning exploring midtown. It was a little more chilly in New York than Dallas, so I ended up wearing more transitional pieces such as this black off-the-shoulder top. I picked up this top from J.Crew on an impulse shopping spree the day before we left Dallas. This black off-the-shoulder top fits true to size (wearing a small), and I like to wear it with the sleeves pushed up to 3/4 length. I paired this top with my favorite light wash jeans from J.Crew and the most comfortable neutral mules from Dolce Vita. I seriously walked all around midtown in these mules. Since we were walking around so much, I swapped my rather heavy shoulder purse for this Kate Spade backpack. I carried this backpack during my recent trip to London as well and it was the perfect size. I have linked this outfit as well as a few of my favorite off-the-shoulder tops below! xoxo

I am all about silk neck scarves, especially when I find a cactus scarf! This light pink and green cactus scarf is from Sole Society and is less than $35. It is the perfect addition to any simple outfit and is great if you love cactus themed things as much as me. I like to pair it with a black dress and denim jacket or a white tee and dark jeans (shown above). If you haven’t noticed this Urban Outfitters tee is my favorite! I own it in seven different colors (whoops) and I wear it multiple times a week. I also love these Marc Fisher flatform shoes, they come in five different colors and are just as easy to walk in as wedges. Shop my favorite tee, flatforms and cactus scarf below! xoxo

Easter Dress

Easter is just around the corner, April 16th to be exact! Last year I totally forgot about an Easter dress and ended up wearing a dress from the very back of my closet (I’m talking freshman year of college back of closet ha). I was thrilled to find this adorable tweed dress on the sale rack of J.Crew and promised myself that I had to save it for Easter! This dress fits true to size (wearing a size 0) and comes in navy, white, and red (the red has an orange tint). Dallas weather is very unpredictable so it is risky to buy a sleeveless dress for a specific spring day. Luckily this dress is fitted at the waist, so it pairs nicely with a cropped jacket, and looks great with open or closed toe shoes. I have linked my favorite tweed dresses for Easter below, and they are all on SALE! xoxo

Texas Tulips

Dress: J.Crew // Shoes: Marc Fisher // Bracelets: Kendra Scott

Happy first day of spring! A few weeks ago I made a trip up to Pilot Point to visit Texas Tulips. We went a little early in the season, so not all the tulips were blooming. None the less there were already full rows of all different kinds of tulips! I mainly picked the deep purple tulips with a few white ones mixed in. Even though it was windy and a bit overcast, I decided that I needed to wear white to pick tulips. I wore this ruffle sleeve shift dress from J.Crew. This dress fits loose (wearing a size 0) and I love the detail around the neck and hem. Since this dress is white, I was nervous that it would be see through, but it is very well lined and the cotton material is thicker than I expected. If you tend to spill something every time you wear white, this dress also comes in navy. I paired it with my favorite Marc Fisher flatforms and simple gold jewelry. If you are interested in visiting Texas Tulips, they are open 7 days a week, and admission is $3, each tulip you pick is $2.50. I have linked all my outfit details for you below! xoxo
