White Jeans

White Jeans - A Pearl Kind of GirlWhite Jeans - A Pearl Kind of GirlWhite Jeans - A Pearl Kind of GirlWhite Jeans - A Pearl Kind of GirlWhite Jeans - A Pearl Kind of Girl

Sweater: J.Crew // Tank: J.Crew // Jeans: J.Crew // Sandals: Jaggar // Headband: Loeffler Randall // Handbag: STAUD

I love the idea of white jeans but often find them to be thin material or unflattering. These jeans stood out online and decided to give them a try because they seemed a little fun and different. I honestly expected to hate them when they arrived but was very surprised by the quality. The high-waisted straight leg cut is very flattering and the material is so thick you could even wear black underwear. These white jeans fit a little large (wearing size 24) and are truly high-waisted. I love the patchwork of white and off-white as well as the frayed seams that separate each patch. These are probably the most “fun” pants I own – not sure what that says about me (ha). I paired the white jeans with a matching off-white sweater, over the shoulders, and a contrasting black tank. This black crew neck tank is one of my favorite layering pieces and it comes in every color you can imagine. Shop this entire look below! xoxo

Dress: J.Crew // Heels: Sam Edelman // Handbag: STAUD // Sunnies: Karen Walker

I am not sure how I end up with a black dress in my cart for all occasions, even Valentine’s Day. This feminine black dress jumped out to me and I immediately loved the idea of all black for Valentine’s Day. I don’t think it will surprise Alex too much when I end up in head to toe black for dinner (bless him).

The feminine bow and pleats are my favorite details of this simple black dress. I am also a huge sucker for a longs sleeved dress and like the fact at these sleeves have a true cuff instead of elastic. This feminine black dress fits true to size (wearing a 0) and has a flattering fit at the waist. I paired the dress with classic black heels, my favorite STAUD bag and oversized sunnies. It is hard to see but I am also wearing this adorable heart necklace that says “thunder only happens when it’s raining”. I love all of Erica Weiner’s pieces but this unique necklace is by far my favorite. Shop my complete look below! xoxo

Cashmere Wrap

Cashmere Wrap: J.Crew // Sweater: Everlane // Jeans: Paige // Boots: Sam Edelman

This past weekend our heater stopped working and I hardly took these boots or this cashmere wrap off for days! I am already a cold natured person and this weekend made me so grateful for our heater. I quickly realized how versatile and warm this cashmere wrap is, and fell in love. Alex picked it out and I am considering buying it in black and white as well. It is prefect paired over a simple sweater and jeans and would be amazing on a long flight. I paired it with my favorite Paige jeans (wearing a 24) and this classic black crewneck sweater (wearing a small) from the Everlane collection at Nordstrom. These knee high black boots also quickly became my favorite for a chilly day. The heel is such a comfortable height and they help combat cold wind. They fit true to size (wearing an 8) and also come in black leather and tan suede. I keep these boot shapers in them when I am not wearing them and they have held up their shape so well. Stay warm and shop this look below! xoxo

Long Black Cardigan

Cardigan: J.Crew // Top: Cloth & Stone (similar) // Jeans: Paige // Booties: Jeffery Campbell // Bag: STAUD

I was supposed to be looking for a Halloween costume (which I still don’t have) when I found this long black cardigan. I think at this point I have just given up on a Halloween costume and plan to wear this cardigan with a black turtleneck, black jeans and black booties… that is festive enough, right?

I own a similar short version of this cardigan in multiple colors and was excited to see a longer option for winter. This cardigan fits large, so I recommend buying a size down (wearing XS). It comes in seven colors and I already have my eye on the burgundy, heather khaki, ivory and heather cilantro colors. I paired this long black cardigan with my favorite white button down (similar), Paige jeans and Jeffery Campbell booties. This cardigan also pairs well with a turtleneck and with a knee length skirt or dress. Shop this entire look below! xoxo

White Cable-Knit Sweater

New Years Resolutions – three words that seem to be everywhere this month. Don’t get me wrong, resolutions are great, and I do think about the things I would like to see happen in the year ahead, but I don’t usually make them. Instead of “resolutions” I try to make more long-term goals or lifestyle changes. This started sometime in high school when I gave up soda for a year. I decided I was better off without soda, and ever since, I have had maybe 10 Dr. Peppers. For 2019, Alex and I decided to keep things simple and intentional. Our primary focus is health (duh) and creating habits that allow us to enjoy life but also take care of our bodies (we are not getting any younger). We are also continuing to turn our house into our home one room at a time, and plan to read through the whole Bible together. We are grateful that our church has provided a plan to help us manage reading every chapter. My personal goal is to not allow my day job to consume me by continuing to make A Pearl Kind of Girl a priority.

I am also trying to be more intentional about the clothes I buy. Let’s be honest, it is not easy to share a closet with your husband, and now it is also our pup’s favorite place to lay. Needless to say, space is at a premium. I love the simplicity of this white cable-knit sweater from J.Crew. Of course, out of all the colors it comes in, I chose white and layered it over a black turtleneck. This sweater fits true to size (wearing a small), and it is wool so it keeps me extra warm. I paired it with classic high waisted jeans and black neoprene Jeffery Campbell booties. These booties are also a great closet staple (justifying the extra shoe rack) and fit true to size (wearing an 8). The thick heel on these booties makes them comfortable enough to wear all day at work or running errands. I also really love the way they look when styled with tights and a mini skirt or a mid length dress. xoxo

Plaid Skirt

Skirt: J.Crew // Turtleneck: Zara (similar) // Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff // Earrings: J.Crew

Christmas is less than two weeks away! The tree and garland are up, all the presents are wrapped, and the only thing left is to find the perfect Christmas outfit. I love showing holiday cheer, but at the same time I love a sleek black outfit. This plaid skirt from J.Crew was the perfect holiday solution for me. I can still show off my Christmas spirit while wearing a black turtleneck, black tights and black shoes. If you like to wear more color than I do, this skirt also pairs well with a red, green or gold sweater. This plaid skirt fits true to size (wearing a 0) and is still truly high waisted without being too short in length. I have linked everything from this look as well as my favorite plaid pieces for you to mix into your holiday look below! xoxo
