Longline Coat

edit-1397edit-1401edit-1416edit-1423edit-1445edit-1431edit-1439

Coat: Forever 21 // Shirt: Banana Republic // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Neiman Marcus

Hard to believe that Dallas had 80 degree temperatures just two weeks ago. When the freezing temperatures finally hit Dallas, I realized I needed a new coat. This longline coat from Forever 21 immediately stuck out to me because of the deep crimson color. This coat has a wide hood that blends into the wide lapels and a front tie that is flattering for the waistline. I also love this silk blouse from Banana Republic with tie on the neckline, it also comes in grey, red and chartreuse. The overall length (including arm length) on both the coat and blouse are perfect for me. I ordered a small in the coat and a zero in the blouse. Shop more of my favorite longline coats below! xoxo

Poncho: Nasty Gal // Jeans: Gap // Sweater: Vince // Booties: Steve Madden // Bag: Louis Vuitton

Happy Thanksgiving! I have so many things to be thankful for this year, but I am especially thankful for those who read and encourage A Pearl Kind of Girl daily. I could not do it without you! xoxo

Plaid on Black

Poncho: Nordstrom // Sweater: Vince // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Neiman Marcus // Bag: Neiman Marcus // Hat: Urban Outfitters // Sunnies: Urban Outfitters

I swear it was summer just yesterday, but it looks like October has come and gone, and fall weather has finally arrived in Dallas! I posted this plaid poncho last year styled with riding boots and love the poncho so much, that I decided to dress it up a little this year. Since the poncho has black trim and accents, but is primarily camel, I decided wear it with an all black look. Check out some of my other favorite plaid ponchos and blanket scarves below! xoxo

Casual Transition Dress

edited-3610 edited-3627 edited-3630 edited-3643

Dress: y&i boutique // Bralette: Free People // Sweater: Gap // Bootie: Steve Madden // Earrings: Anthropologie

It is finally starting to feel like fall in Dallas, but this transition weather is difficult to dress for. In the mornings and evenings it feels like fall, but in the afternoon the temperatures reach into the 80s. This casual transition dress from y&i is perfect to layer with a cardigan for cooler mornings and evening, and still looks great with booties when you take off the cardigan in the afternoons. The deep red/maroon color of this dress is perfect for fall when paired with black and brown, or spring when paired with lighter colors. xoxo

Black Jeans

Black and white have always been my two favorite colors, so naturally I have been on the hunt for a pair of casual black jeans. I have probably tried on a million pairs and styles of black jeans, some with zippers or unique stitching, some cropped, some long, some skinny, some flared, but I ended up loving this pair from Gap. I love the high waisted fit and skinny legs, especially in the flattering black wash. The distressed knees gives these black jeans a subtle casual look, but can still be easily dressed up with the right top and shoes. I dressed these casual black jeans up with a basic white blouse, tucked in the front to show off the high waist and skinny fit, and my favorite pair of black and white pumps. These jeans fit true to size in the waist, but the inseam runs longer, so alterations might need to be made for length. They are also made with a thicker denim that does not allow as much stretch as some thinner denim material. Check gap.com to see their latest denim promotion!  xoxo

Distressed Denim

edited-1756edited-1760edited-1773edited-1775

Top: Anthropologie // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Vince // Sunnies: Marc by Marc Jacobs // Earrings: Anthropologie // Necklace: Kendra Scott

Would you believe that this is the first pair of distressed denim jeans I have ever own? My parents have always made fun of the idea of buying jeans that are already torn up. When I saw these jeans at Gap I was a little hesitant to try them out but they were so affordable, I just had to give them a try. These jeans fit wonderfully and the holes near the knees actually make it easier to move in skinny cut jeans. The distressed denim look is obviously more casual and not appropriate for all situations, but is also surprisingly easy to dress up. For a day look I paired my distressed denim with a chambray top from cloth and stone, and thick heeled sandals from Vince. I have also transitioned the distressed denim into more of an evening look with a silk tank, platform heels, and a blazer when it gets cooler. Check out all the distressed denim jeans at gap.com! xoxo
