I am not sure how I end up with a black dress in my cart for all occasions, even Valentine’s Day. This feminine black dress jumped out to me and I immediately loved the idea of all black for Valentine’s Day. I don’t think it will surprise Alex too much when I end up in head to toe black for dinner (bless him).

The feminine bow and pleats are my favorite details of this simple black dress. I am also a huge sucker for a longs sleeved dress and like the fact at these sleeves have a true cuff instead of elastic. This feminine black dress fits true to size (wearing a 0) and has a flattering fit at the waist. I paired the dress with classic black heels, my favorite STAUD bag and oversized sunnies. It is hard to see but I am also wearing this adorable heart necklace that says “thunder only happens when it’s raining”. New Years Eve is tomorrow and I have been trying on all the black and gold outfits in my closet. A few weeks ago I shared this gold skirt and then I saw this black bow dress. I am still trying decide on my official NYE outfit, but love the simplicity of a black dress with gold accents. This dress fits true to size (wearing a 0) and hits just above the knee. The peplum hem adds a little movement to the dress and the bow back is a fun surprise. I paired this black bow dress with gold heels and these sparkly pearl earrings. Surprise, I found yet another black dress that I could not pass up! I saw this ASTR dress at Nordstrom, and knew the long sleeves would be perfect for fall and winter weather. The bell sleeves give a fun nod to the 70s, but are not so large that they become unflattering. The length of the dress is perfect to pair with any pair of heels, flats, over the knee boots, or even with tights. For a warmer option, I would style this dress with these black over the knee boots I found at ASOS. I am wearing a small and it fits true to size. The lace up front gives the dress personality without being too low cut or loose enough to gape open. I added a thick velvet choker from Vanessa Mooney to complete the lace up neckline.
