Sweater Tank

Sweater Tank - A Pearl Kind of Girl Sweater Tank - A Pearl Kind of Girl Sweater Tank - A Pearl Kind of Girl Sweater Tank - A Pearl Kind of Girl Sweater Tank - A Pearl Kind of Girl

Tank: J.Crew // Jeans: J.Crew // Heels: Banana Republic (similar) // Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff

This week is crazy busy as we prepare for a fun trip next week (details coming soon)! Am I the only person who tries to plan all of their outfits before a big trip? It helps me not overpack and reduces the risk of forgetting something. One of the pieces I am thinking about packing is this surprisingly cool sweater tank.

This sweater tank fits true to size (wearing a small) and comes in seven colors. I am wearing the natural color, but am also eyeing the black and olive versions. The crew neckline and cut in shoulders are my favorite part of this tank, but make it difficult to wear a traditional bra. The length is perfect to wear tucked in or out and works well with skirts or pants. I paired this tank with a pair of relaxed jeans and strappy black heels (similar). I have linked this entire outfit below to shop! xoxo

Denim Shift Dress

Dress: Madewell // Scarf: Madewell // Mules: Calvin Klein // Clutch: J.Crew // Earrings: Madewell

Last week, I tried on some outfits from Madewell on Instagram Stories. Southlake Town Square is hosting a Girls Night Out Event this week and I found some great GNO outfits at Madewell! The last outfit I tried on was this denim shift dress, and it ended up being my favorite. This dress fits true to size (wearing a small) and is a great length to wear with wedges or heels (I am 5’6″ for reference). I added a silk scarf and wavy hoop earrings from Madewell to give this dress a casual day look. My hexagon hoops are hard to replace, but these wavy hoop earrings might be my new favorite! I also added a straw clutch from J.Crew and Calvin Klein mules to complete my outfit. This dress is perfect for cooking out, summer brunch, casual dinners and with cowboy boots will be perfect for tailgating this fall.

Shop this look below or at Southlake Town Square’s GNO Event on June 6th. Madewell will be offering sips and sweets, a free reusable tote with purchase and a special discount to all shoppers! xoxo

Little Black Dress for Spring

Little Black Dress for Spring - A Pearl Kind of Girl

Dress: Gal Meets Glam // Shoes: Banana Republic (similar) // Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff

I firmly believe there is such a thing as a little black dress for spring! Many would say that black is only appropriate during the time of year that your mother wouldn’t let you wear white shoes (Labor Day to Easter). No surprise, I will always defend the opportunity to wear my favorite color.

I found this Gal Meets Glam dress at the last minute for a rehearsal dinner, and it was perfect for the evening. I have ordered other Gal Meets Glam dresses in the past and the quality was just as great as I expected. The sleeves on this dress were perfect for me, since I usually get cold in restaurants. I ordered a 0, but wish I had ordered a 00 because this dress runs a little large in the waist. I dressed this look up with strapy black heels and pearls, but this dress could easily be dressed down with wedges. I have linked this entire look below, as well as some more little black dresses! be sure to share how you style a little black dress for spring with me on Instagram. xoxo

White Gal Meets Glam Dress

Dress: Gal Meets Glam // Shoes: Marc Fisher // Bag: Cult Gaia // Sunnies: Karen Walker

My favorite part of spring (besides the weather) might just be all the beautiful dresses in store. There seems to be a million reasons to buy new dresses this time of year, including Easter, weddings, showers and graduation parties.

This white Gal Meets Glam dress is a part of the March collection, and I immediately loved the simplicity. The Gal Meets Glam line runs a little large, so I recommend ordering one size down (wearing 00). This dress is also shorter than what I typically wear. I am 5’6″ and it hits me about 2 inches above the knee. I completed the look with my favorite Marc Fisher heels in white and a Cult Gaia bamboo bag. This dress would also pair well with wedges or simple strap heels, but because it flares at the waist, flats do not pair well. I have linked this entire look and a few spring dresses perfect for Easter and spring parties below! xoxo

Olive Slip Dress

Dress: Anthropologie // Shoes: Banana Republic (similar) // Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff

Does anyone else feel like April is one of the busiest months of the year? For some reason, the holidays and beginning of spring are always booked solid for me. This month we are celebrating Alex’s birthday (yay), attending the wedding of two good friends, spending time with family, and a million other things in between. When we cleaned out our closet last week, I quickly realized I needed something to wear to our friend’s wedding (and honestly everything else).

I looked at this olive slip dress online, but really loved it when I saw it in person at Anthopologie. It also comes in a beautiful dark orange color, but I liked the olive color better with my skin tone. I love that this slip dress has adjustable straps because it does run a bit large (wearing an XS). I paired the olive slip dress with simple black sandals (similar), and my favorite clutch. After looking at these photos, I think I will add a simple necklace to this dress in the future. I have linked this entire look and some similar dresses below! xoxo

Cloth & Stone White Tank

Cloth & Stone White Tank - A Pearl Kind of Girl

Top: Anthropologie // Jeans: Paige // Heels: Marc Fisher // Necklace: Erica Weiner

I haven’t watched Tidying Up on Nextflix, but have a feeling that this past weekend would have pleased Marie Kondo. It could have been the spring weather, or that fact that I missed The Container Store, but I completely reorganized our closet this weekend. The steamer, sweater shaver, and label maker were out in full force as I decided I no longer needed half my clothes. As I made piles to trash, give away, or post on Poshmark, I realized I needed some more basic pieces for spring. One of pieces I was missing most from my wardrobe was a classic white tank.

I saw this Cloth & Stone white tank while looking for a dress in Anthropologie, and it was an instant purchase. I keep going back to the Cloth & Stone brand because their material is so incredibly soft. This tank fits true to size (wearing a small) and also comes in red and petite sizes. I do feel like I need to iron this top (especially the tie) after every wash, but it will stay pressed throughout the day. I have linked my favorite white tanks for spring below! xoxo
