DBC at The Vintage House

edited-2946edited-2953edited-2958

Top: Shopbop // Skirt: ASOS // Shoes: Zara (similar) // Purse: Kate Spade // Bangle: Kate Spade // Earrings: Anthropologie

This weekend the Dallas Blogger Collective (DBC) hosted the cutest tea party at The Vintage House. It was a nice break from a whirlwind week of work, a top secret blog project, and launching my personal styling service.

I decided to wear a ASOS scuba high waisted skirt with a Shopbop floral scuba crop top to create a two piece dress look. The scuba material is super comfortable and easy to move in. I paired the look with my favorite nude sandals from Zara, a simple black Kate Spade bag and simple gold hoops and bangle. It was the perfect look for a day of sweet tea, sugar cookies, and friends.  The Shopbop crop top is also reversible to a black and white stripe top that will pair well with the ASOS black skirt as well. Be sure to check out all the cute midi skirts and crop tops at Shopbop and ASOS as well as the wide range of products at The Vintage House. xoxo

Active Wear: The Dog Walker

The rain has finally stopped (at least for a while) in Dallas, and I can finally get back outside. One of my favorite ways to stay active in the summer is walking my golden retriever, Scout. It is nice to take a break from the gym, get some sun, and enjoy the company of my puppy. I never realize how good of an arm workout it is to walk my dog (or in this case have him walk me) until we get back and my arms feel like jello!

I basically live in athletic clothes when I can, but I hate spending a small fortune on clothes I plan to sweat in. I recently discovered Gap’s GapFit line of athletic clothes that they offer at a very reasonable price. I love this mesh-stripe racerback top so much that I ended up buying it in every color. I also love their patterned shorts, because they add to my otherwise boring grey color scheme. I have never owned a pair of tennis shoes that were not white, maybe some day I will branch out, but until then I am loving my grey and white Nikes. For more affordable athletic clothes, check out Athlea, Fabletics, H&M, and GapFit.  xoxo

Black Halter

Dallas has had its fair share of spring showers recently, meaning much cooler temperatures than usual. This past weekend I was going to dinner with some friends and I think I tried on everything in my closet in attempt to dress for this cooler weather. I mentioned in my post last week, that I pretty much live in my white jeans, well not much has changed. I am still trying to get the most out of the short time I have to wear them and they have been great for cool nights. I paired my white jeans with a basic black knit halter and heels for a high contrast look.

For those who follow me on Instagram, you know that I have been obsessed with my turquoise Kendra Scott ring and bracelet. I added the ring and bracelet to my high contrast look for a small pop of color on my left hand. To keep things simple and avoid going over the top with the turquoise, I wore my favorite gold hoops and went without a necklace to show off the halter neckline. Hopefully the weather warms up soon so I can pull out my white shorts and move on from jeans! xoxo

Tribal Blazer

Blazer: Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent // Tank: J.Crew Cotton Tank // Pants: J.Crew // Shoes: J.Crew (similar) // Purse: Kate Spade (similar) // Earrings: Tory Burch // Pearls: Tiffany and Co.

Graduation has passed, the boxes are packed, and I am moving back to Dallas! If I am being honest, I am not ready to leave college, all my friends, the carefree lifestyle of Norman, and the ability to wear athletic clothes and over sized T-shirts without judgment. Last week I had a girl tell me that I must workout a lot, because every time she sees me I am wearing athletic clothes. Well, while I “try” to workout everyday, we all know it is just easier to throw on Lululemon and a pair of Nikes to go to class or the library. Unfortunately leaving college and entering the “real world” means getting dressed for work, not the gym every morning.

When I realized I needed more than jeans and leggings in my closet I went on the hunt for some corporate attire. My first stop was J.Crew, and they had everything I needed plus a 15% discount for students. I found these dress pants and basic tanks in every color imaginable. I wanted a blazer that stood out with my basic pants and top. I found this Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent blazer at Neiman Marcus and fell in love with the unique cut, pattern and embroidery. This black, creme and gold blazer also pairs well with a  form fitting dress, pencil skirt, or can even be dressed down with dark skinny jeans.

If you are starting the hunt for professional clothes for interviews, internships, or a full time job, I would recommend starting the search at J.Crew. Do not forget to show your student ID at checkout for an extra 15% your purchase (sale items included)! xoxo

Little White Dress

edited-5edited-4edited-6edited-8edited-2

Dress: L’Agence Sleeveless Sheath // Shoes: Zara (similar) // Necklace: Tiffany and Co. // Earrings: Tory Burch

Yesterday I took the last test of my 16 years of education, which means graduation must be close! Graduation brings a new and exciting chapter to my life, but it also comes with a scary amount of responsibility. My mom has probably asked me a million times what I plan to wear on this big day, trying to sway me away from yet another black dress. Anyone can tell you that the large majority of my closet is my black dress collection, followed by skirts and tops that can only be described as 50 shades of grey. I finally decided that I should branch out of my black dress and black heel rut to start this new chapter of my life.

Since color is not really my thing, I switched gears from black to white (mainly because my school colors are crimson and cream). I always start my dress hunt at Neiman Marcus and almost always find just what I need right away. I went directly to the Cusp section at Northpark (it is enormous) and tried on every single white dress I could find in my size. Once again the Cusp section of Neiman Marcus pulled through for me. I fell in love with this L’Agance sleeveless sheath the moment I realized it had pockets and knew it would be easy to pair with my favorite Zara heels and of course, my pearls. Not only will this dress be perfect for graduation, but it will also be great for my transition to the working world. xoxo
