Black Cardigan Set

Black Cardigan Set - A Pearl Kind of Girl Black Cardigan Set - A Pearl Kind of Girl Black Cardigan Set - A Pearl Kind of Girl Black Cardigan Set - A Pearl Kind of Girl Black Cardigan Set - A Pearl Kind of Girl Black Cardigan Set - A Pearl Kind of Girl

Cardigan: J.Crew // Shell: J.Crew // Jeans: Paige // Heels: Jaggar // Bag: STAUD // Headband: Loeffler Randall // Earrings: Madewell

My birthday is later this month and normally I would be busy planning a way to celebrate. This year is going to be so weird not celebrating with friends or eating at a nice restaurant, but I decided I should still treat myself to a new outfit for the occasion. Since my birthday dinner will be in our dining room, I decided this black cardigan set was just right and is a great staple to add to my closet.

This black cardigan set fits true to size (wearing small in both cardigan and shell) and comes in 5 colors. I ordered this set in both black and white because it is so simple and versatile. The cardigan is super cute styled alone leaving the top two buttons undone and sleeves pushed to three quarters, but when its 100 degrees outside the cardigan looks best tied around the neck. I paired the black cardigan set with my favorite straight legged jeans, a simple Loeffler Randall headband (so comfortable) and my favorite summer mules from Jaggar (fit true to size, wearing an 8). White Eyelet Dress

White Eyelet Dress - A Pearl Kind of Girl White Eyelet Dress - A Pearl Kind of Girl White Eyelet Dress - A Pearl Kind of Girl

All dressed up and staying home. Throughout quarantine it has been nice to dress up once a week to feel more human, even if we are just sitting in the living room. While restaurants and hair salons have started to open, we are doing our best to stay home and help decrease the spread of COVID in Dallas. This white eyelet dress caught my eye a few weeks ago and couldn’t pass it up on J.Crew’s latest sale. I am hoping that by the end of summer I will have a few excuses to wear it besides happy hour in my living room. This dress fits true to size (wearing a 0) and the silhouette is very flattering. I love the simple elegance of a white eyelet dress for all summer activities. It is the perfect piece for showers, birthdays, barbecues, crawfish boils, dinner al fresco, Fourth of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day. I am sharing a few of my favorite white eyelet dresses below! xoxo

White Spring Sweater

Sweater: J.Crew // Jeans: Paige // Shoes: Shopbop // Sunnies: Karen Walker

We are on day 26 of the “shelter in place” order and I am getting very antsy. We are both working from home and really only leave our house to walk the dog (a few times a day) and go to the grocery store. We are sad to be canceling plans like Easter with family and our May trip to the UK. I am very hopeful that we can all do our part and get life back to normal sooner than later.

Since I am hardly (really never) leaving my house, I have been living in my favorite Lululemon leggings. While they are the most comfortable leggings in the world, I occasional miss getting dressed up for the office. I have made a new rule, that I going to put on real clothes at least once a week. Last week I threw on my favorite boyfriend jeans and this white spring sweater to pick up dinner and dine al fresco. I ordered this white spring sweater from J.Crew and it is the perfect weight for the transitioning Texas weather. It fits true to size (wearing a small) and pairs well with jeans, shorts or skirts. I love the rolled sleeve and neckline detail as well as the loose knit material. I paired this look with my new favorite sandals for summer and simple jewelry. Navy Gingham Dress

Dress: Anthropologie // Heels: Sam Edelman // Sunnies: Karen Walker

Happy April! March seemed so long and I am hoping that the next month at home goes by much faster. I have been living in leggings and it felt so nice to take my hair out of a pony tail and throw on a spring dress!

I ordered this navy gingham dress about a month ago and had planned to wear it with white shoes and a white handbag for Easter. It was back ordered, so by the time it arrived COVID-19 already had us sheltering in place. This dress fits oversized, I recommend ordering a size down (wearing XS). I love how the sheer gingham pattern looks over the solid slip and that it has sleeves. Since we won’t be seeing anyone on Easter, I left the handbag in my cart and paired the dress with existing pieces in my closet. These Sam Edelman pumps are a great staple for the price and fit true to size (wearing an 8). Shop my favorite spring dresses and this navy gingham dress below! xoxo

Long White Cardigan

Cardigan: J.Crew // Sweatshirt: J.Crew // Jeans: Paige // Shoes: Marc Fisher // Earrings: Madewell // Sunnies: Karen Walker

I have officially switched my nail polish from back to light pink and I am ready for spring. Now if the weather would just corporate and heat up! I shared this Long White Cardigan in black a few months ago and had to go back and get it in white for spring.

Actually, I still have my eye on the heather khaki version because I love the shorter style in heather khaki so much.  This cardigan fits oversized, so I recommend buying a size down (wearing XS). I paired this long white cardigan with on old J.Crew sweatshirt, classic Marc Fisher heels and my new favorite pair of Paige jeans. These jeans (wearing a 24) are the same high rise cut as my other favorites but they are in a lighter wash and have a looser leg. They look super cute paired with a white blouse and mules but I am still waiting for the weather to allow that look. This cardigan also pairs well with a turtleneck and with a knee length skirt or dress. Shop this entire look below! xoxo

Feminine Black Dress

Dress: J.Crew // Heels: Sam Edelman // Handbag: STAUD // Sunnies: Karen Walker

I am not sure how I end up with a black dress in my cart for all occasions, even Valentine’s Day. This feminine black dress jumped out to me and I immediately loved the idea of all black for Valentine’s Day. I don’t think it will surprise Alex too much when I end up in head to toe black for dinner (bless him).

The feminine bow and pleats are my favorite details of this simple black dress. I am also a huge sucker for a longs sleeved dress and like the fact at these sleeves have a true cuff instead of elastic. This feminine black dress fits true to size (wearing a 0) and has a flattering fit at the waist. I paired the dress with classic black heels, my favorite STAUD bag and oversized sunnies. It is hard to see but I am also wearing this adorable heart necklace that says “thunder only happens when it’s raining”. I love all of Erica Weiner’s pieces but this unique necklace is by far my favorite. Shop my complete look below! xoxo
