White Jeans

White Jeans - A Pearl Kind of GirlWhite Jeans - A Pearl Kind of GirlWhite Jeans - A Pearl Kind of GirlWhite Jeans - A Pearl Kind of GirlWhite Jeans - A Pearl Kind of Girl

Sweater: J.Crew // Tank: J.Crew // Jeans: J.Crew // Sandals: Jaggar // Headband: Loeffler Randall // Handbag: STAUD

I love the idea of white jeans but often find them to be thin material or unflattering. These jeans stood out online and decided to give them a try because they seemed a little fun and different. I honestly expected to hate them when they arrived but was very surprised by the quality. The high-waisted straight leg cut is very flattering and the material is so thick you could even wear black underwear. These white jeans fit a little large (wearing size 24) and are truly high-waisted. I love the patchwork of white and off-white as well as the frayed seams that separate each patch. These are probably the most “fun” pants I own – not sure what that says about me (ha). I paired the white jeans with a matching off-white sweater, over the shoulders, and a contrasting black tank. This black crew neck tank is one of my favorite layering pieces and it comes in every color you can imagine. Shop this entire look below! xoxo

White Summer Dress

Summer White Dress - A Pearl Kind of Girl Summer White Dress - A Pearl Kind of Girl Summer White Dress - A Pearl Kind of Girl Summer White Dress - A Pearl Kind of Girl Summer White Dress - A Pearl Kind of Girl

Dress: Amanda Uprichard // Shoes: Zara similar // Clutch: Cult Gaia

My calendar is starting to look like it did pre-pandemic and I am not sure if I was ready for this social whirlwind. My brother graduated college last month and I went on the hunt for a white summer dress. I had my eye on this Amanda Uprichard dress in black a long time ago but was nervous that white might be see-through. I gave it a shot anyway and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of such a light dress (aka not see-through). This dress fits large (wearing XS) so I recommend ordering a size smaller than you usually would. I love the tiered pleats that create such a light and breezy silhouette. Dresses with sleeves always win me over because I am cold-natured, especially when everyone is blasting their A/C in the summer. Shop this white summer dress and more of my favorites below! xoxo

Perks of a Neutral Wardrobe

Perks of a Neutral Wardrobe - A Pearl Kind of Girl Perks of a Neutral Wardrobe - A Pearl Kind of Girl Perks of a Neutral Wardrobe - A Pearl Kind of Girl

A hot pink dress that I can’t seem to part with is really the only color in all of my closet. I am frequently asked why I don’t wear more color or why I hate color. I don’t really hate color and I occasionally wear it, but I have found so many perks of a neutral wardrobe. Some of these perks have actually transitioned over to home decor and that is probably fueling the theory that I hate color. So what are the perks of a neutral wardrobe? A neutral wardrobe is timeless. There is no arguing that little black dress or classic white button down will never be out of style. I have found that neutral pieces can be repeated more often and tend to last well beyond trends. I have also found that there is more attention to detail in neutral pieces giving them an elevated high end look. I hate to admit that I still wear pieces in my closet that I bought 5 or 6 years ago. A neutral wardrobe is versatile and practical. It is so easy to dress up, dress down and mix and match neutral pieces. This makes packing so much simpler, especially when flying and space is at a premium. The neutral color scheme makes it easy to travel with just a few pairs of shoes and bulk items like coats can can be paired with all outfits. A neutral wardrobe allows me to be more intentional. I used to have a much more colorful closet but started noticing that the trendy and colorful pieces often ended up in a giveaway pile. Instead of buying multiple colorful tops I now buy a few neutral tops that will go with most everything in my closet. Since I am buying less I can spend a little more on each piece and fill my wardrobe with quality over quantity. Shop some of my favorite neutral pieces below and discover the perks of a neutral wardrobe yourself! xoxo

Camel Coat

Sweater: J.Crew // Jeans: Paige // Coat: Zara (similar) // Booties: Jeffery Campbell // Bag: Tory Burch (similar)

A black cashmere sweater, comfortable skinny jeans, black booties and a camel coat. These are just a few of my highly repeated winter wardrobe staples. Considering the rise in Covid cases in Dallas, we have been staying home for the most part. Every now and then we change out of our sweats to pick up dinner or coffee and when we do, I am pretty much always wearing this outfit. The camel coat I am wearing is now sold out, but I have linked multiple similar styles below. This coat was a great Zara find, so I would keep my eye on their coats for similar styles in the future. I paired my coat over a black cashmere mock neck, my favorite skinny jeans and black Jeffery Campbell booties. This black cashmere mock neck is easily my favorite sweater, it is one of the warmest and most versatile pieces in my closet. Shop this entire look and a variety of similar camel coats below! xoxo

Black Jacquard Dress

Dress: J.Crew // Boots: Nordstrom // Handbag: Tory Burch (similar) // Headband: Shopbop

I am not sure why, but long sleeved dresses are always so difficult for me to find. When I saw this Black Jacquard Dress not only had long sleeves but paired well with knee high boots, I couldn’t pass it up. This dress is the perfect solution for casual but warm winter attire. I love the subtle black on black jacquard pattern of the material and the matching buttons on the font. This Black Jacquard Dress fits oversized, I am wearing a small but wish I had ordered an extra small for sleeve length. This dress pairs perfectly with knee high boots or tights and heels. Since the shape of the dress is more loose fitting, it pairs better with heels than flats. I paired the dress with knee high boots and my favorite black puffy headband for an all back winter look. Black Cardigan

Black Cardigan - A Pearl Kind of Girl Black Cardigan - A Pearl Kind of Girl Black Cardigan - A Pearl Kind of Girl Black Cardigan - A Pearl Kind of Girl Black Cardigan - A Pearl Kind of Girl Black Cardigan - A Pearl Kind of Girl

Cardigan: J.Crew // Jeans: Paige // Heels: Jaggar // Headband: Loeffler Randall // Handbag: Tory Burch (similar)

This past week Texas experienced what is commonly known as “fake fall”. We usually have a couple of days in September where temperatures drop below 80 degrees and everyone (myself included) buy pumpkins, just before temperatures jump above 90 degrees again. Last week, in typical fake fall fashion, I pulled out a few warmer pieces buried in my closet and it felt so nice to wear something besides a tee or tank. I bought this black cardigan at the start of the summer and have been wearing it tied up with the matching shell. This cardigan fits true to size (wearing a small) and comes in a variety of colors, of course I only bought black and white. The ability to layer this cardigan or wear it on its own sold me on it. I also love the subtle late 90s early 2000s vibe it gives. I paired the black cardigan with my favorite Paige jeans, Jagger sandals and a puffy black headband. Shop the entire look below! xoxo
