Would you believe that this is the first pair of distressed denim jeans I have ever own? My parents have always made fun of the idea of buying jeans that are already torn up. When I saw these jeans at Gap I was a little hesitant to try them out but they were so affordable, I just had to give them a try. These jeans fit wonderfully and the holes near the knees actually make it easier to move in skinny cut jeans. The distressed denim look is obviously more casual and not appropriate for all situations, but is also surprisingly easy to dress up. For a day look I paired my distressed denim with a chambray top from cloth and stone, and thick heeled sandals from Vince. I have also transitioned the distressed denim into more of an evening look with a silk tank, platform heels, and a blazer when it gets cooler. Check out all the distressed denim jeans at gap.com! xoxo
This weekend I let my OCD get the best of me and redesigned A Pearl Kind of Girl. For the past few years I had a running list of thing that bothered me about my old design. This list finally grew so large that I decided it would be better to just start over with a brand new look. I am excited for this design to better your experience on A Pearl Kind of Girl.
In addition to updating the site’s new look, I spent my weekend shopping the sales. Neiman Marcus is currently having their Last Call Sale and if you live in Dallas, be sure to stop by the NorthPark location this Friday to shop all of the remaining sale merchandise from all Neiman Marcus locations. I found this suede fringe skirtthat will be perfect for fall (cue inner Pocahontas) and the most amazing white leather fringe jacket(cue inner Sloane Peterson). This weekend Nordstrom opened their Anniversary Sale to everyone (not just card members) offering huge discounts on fall staples like these Tory Burch riding boots, fringed booties, and dark wash jeans.

Happy Bastille Day! This weekend I celebrated Bastille Day with Lancome and Southern Living at Dillard’s NorthPark. I was treated with endless macarons and a french style makeover. I fell in love with Lancome’s Miracle Cushion Liquid Foundation and Hypnose Drama Mascara. Southern Living showcased their new cook book, filled with french inspired recipes. Celebrate Bastille Day and shop my favorite Lancome looks below! xoxo
