Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today is really just an excuse for me to add a pop of color to my wardrobe, sit on a patio, and eat tex-mex until I burst. Which is exactly what I am doing, you will find me in this white ruffle dress enjoying the patio weather and cheating on my wedding diet. I wore this white ruffle dress to dinner a few weeks ago over my bachelorette weekend. The elastic waist makes the ruffle flattering, and I plan to take this dress on my honeymoon because it is perfect for the beach. It fits true to size (wearing a small) and pairs well with flats or wedges. I chose to wear these raffia wedges and a matching clutch from J.Crew (similar). To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, I added a pop of turquoise with these Kendra Scott earrings and bracelet (similar). Shop this festive look and similar white ruffle dresses below! xoxo
What a week it has been! We received some sad news that our dog of 11 years, Scout, has cancer. He is hanging in there and we are doing everything to make him comfortable, but I have been focused on spending time with him. There has also been nonstop rain here in Dallas, which finally let up this weekend, thank goodness. The sunshine is giving us hope spring around the corner, but temperatures are still a little chilly. This light weight black blazer has been perfect for the hint of spring weather.
This black blazer fits true to size (wearing a small), but has longer fitting sleeves. I ended up rolling the sleeves twice, so the sleeves fit at a mid length, which I prefer anyways. The material is much more light weight than most blazer, and layers best with a tank top or short sleeve shirt. I paired it with a neutral silk camisole and my favorite cropped jeans, for a casual work day, but it can be worn over a slip dress for dinner. To complete my look I added these Marc Fisher heels that I absolutely love and now own in three colors (I knew I would end up buying all the colors). Shop this entire look below! xoxo
This time last weekend, Alex and I had just finished shooting this look when we were in a bad accident on the Dallas North Toll Road. Luckily everyone was fine, but we were hit by a large pickup truck and Alex’s car was a total loss. If you follow we me on Instagram stories, you know that we bought a car this weekend and are already in love with Sewell Cadillac’s famed customer service. Now that we are back to owning two cars we can focus back on buying house (ugh).
It has taken me a little longer to write this post with everything going on this week, but I could not put off sharing this super warm camel sweater any longer. This sweater has been perfect for the recent 20-30 degree temperatures here in Dallas. It is 100% merino wool, and I just love the neutral camel color. I am wearing a size small and it has a slight over-sized fit and longer sleeves than I would normally buy. I paired this sweater with my favorite Paige jeans and nude Marc Fisher heels. Shop this look below! xoxo
Happy first day of spring! A few weeks ago I made a trip up to Pilot Point to visitTexas Tulips. We went a little early in the season, so not all the tulips were blooming. None the less there were already full rows of all different kinds of tulips! I mainly picked the deep purple tulips with a few white ones mixed in. Even though it was windy and a bit overcast, I decided that I needed to wear white to pick tulips. I wore thisruffle sleeve shift dress from J.Crew. This dress fits loose (wearing a size 0) and I love the detail around the neck and hem. Since this dress is white, I was nervous that it would be see through, but it is very well lined and the cotton material is thicker than I expected. If you tend to spill something every time you wear white, this dress also comes in navy. I paired it with my favoriteMarc Fisher flatformsand simple gold jewelry. If you are interested in visiting Texas Tulips, they are open 7 days a week, and admission is $3, each tulip you pick is $2.50. I have linked all my outfit details for you below! xoxo
I am a total sucker for a black dress (my closet is full of them) but I especially love a casual black dress. I found this casual black dress at Nordstrom for less than $50 and it is absolutely perfect for everyday wear. It fits true to size (wearing a small) and is cut to hang loose. This dress also comes in blue, peach, lavender and maroon. I also found these Dolce Vita mules at Nordstrom as well (they fit true to size, I am wearing a size 8) and love the laser cut detail. These mules are also so comfortable for everyday wear because of the thicker heel, soft leather and extra cushion under the ball of the foot. This casual black dress is currently in stock, but has been selling out quickly! Also, if you are ever in the Highland Park area be sure to stop by Royal Blue Grocery. It is one of my favorite spots to stop for coffee and a sweet treat. They also have a large selection of unique wine, food and flowers that make great gifts! xoxo
Valentine’s Day is only a week away! While my date night with Alex will consist of cooking and watching movies in leggings and a sweatshirt (a much needed night in), I am sharing my two favorite Valentine’s outfits for any date. My first Valentine’s outfit is more casual and is perfect for dinner, a movie or to wear to the office. I found this knit sweater last year at H&M, and it is back in stock for under $20. It goes perfectly with dark denim for winter and white/light denim for chilly spring days. I added my favorite red heels (similar) and a classic red lip to make this light pink sweater a little more festive. After years of struggling with red lipstick (especially in dance competitions) I have finally mastered a non-messy red lip that will last all day. I start by lining my lips with Chanel Lip Definer #57, the color is very versatile and I love the thin brush at the end of the pencil. After lining my lips I fill in with Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Sarafine and use the brush on the end of the Chanel lip pencil to evenly spread the color, I like this color because it has blue undertones and will make your teeth look whiter. This liquid lipstick is great because it dries matte and will last for hours, even through meals. However, I recommend removing and reapplying the lipstick (with chapstick) after about 4-5 hours, because it will start to dry out your lips.
My second Valentine’s outfit is little dressier, for a nice dinner or night out. This light pink flounce dress is only $60 and can easily be dressed up or down depending on your accessories. This fabric of the dress has a great weight and it has pockets (major win), I only wish it came in more colors, specifically black. The dress fits very loose, so I am wearing an XS because it fit best in the arms. I kept this look simple by just adding red heels and a stack of gold bracelets, but it can also be dressed up with a statement necklace, structured jacket, or strappy heels. If you have a more casual evening planned, but still want to wear a dress, you can dress this look down with a denim jacket, wedges or mules, and minimal jewelry. Both of these looks are also great for a Galentine’s party or a festive Valentines look for the office. I have linked everything you need to recreate these Valentine’s outfits below! xoxo
