Regardless of what the calendar says, I say summer starts on June 1st. That means it is time to break out all the palm print tops and straw accessories. I found this palm crop top during a lunch-time Zara run and loved the detail of the embroidery as well as the structure of the sleeves. It fits true to size (wearing a small) and is long enough to hit the top of my high waisted jeans. Unlike many white tops, the material is not thin or see through. This palm crop top looks best with skinny jeans, shorts, or a tight fitting skirt. Since it fits loose and the sleeves are a little puffy, it does not pair well with loose fitting pants or skirts. I chose to pair it with my favorite high waisted skinny jeans and classic nude heels. Since I have declared it to be summer, I traded in my large shoulder bag for this straw clutch. I found this clutch last year at J.Crew and have carried it much more than I thought I would. Luckily they brought back the exact same clutch this year and even added a pink version. About a month ago I took a whirlwind trip to New York City (shared more about my trip here) with two coworkers. Before heading home, we took advantage of our noon flight and spent the morning exploring midtown. It was a little more chilly in New York than Dallas, so I ended up wearing more transitional pieces such as this black off-the-shoulder top. I picked up this top from J.Crew on an impulse shopping spree the day before we left Dallas. This black off-the-shoulder top fits true to size (wearing a small), and I like to wear it with the sleeves pushed up to 3/4 length. I paired this top with my favorite light wash jeans from J.Crew and the most comfortable neutral mules from Dolce Vita. I seriously walked all around midtown in these mules. Since we were walking around so much, I swapped my rather heavy shoulder purse for this Kate Spade backpack. I carried this backpack during my recent trip to London as well and it was the perfect size. I have linked this outfit as well as a few of my favorite off-the-shoulder tops below! xoxo
It is time for barbecues, crawfish boils, and soaking up the sun with family and friends. I cannot think of anything that pairs better with these things than gingham. With Memorial Day and the Fourth of July right around the corner, it is time to stock up on outfits suitable for the outdoors. This gingham cold shoulder top is 100% cotton and perfect for those 80 degree days. The best part about this top is that it is less than $40! It fits true to size (wearing a small) but runs a little short in length, so you might want to try a size up. I paired the top with my favorite skinny jeans, but it also looks great with distressed denim, white jeans, or a high waisted white skirt. I matched the gingham cold shoulder top with my favorite large monogram necklace from Moon and Lola. I have linked a few versions of this necklace below because they make such great gifts. I am all about silk neck scarves, especially when I find a cactus scarf! This light pink and green cactus scarf is from Sole Society and is less than $35. It is the perfect addition to any simple outfit and is great if you love cactus themed things as much as me. I like to pair it with a black dress and denim jacket or a white tee and dark jeans (shown above). If you haven’t noticed this Urban Outfitters tee is my favorite! I own it in seven different colors (whoops) and I wear it multiple times a week. I also love these Marc Fisher flatform shoes, they come in five different colors and are just as easy to walk in as wedges. Shop my favorite tee, flatforms and cactus scarf below! xoxo

Happy Texas Independence Day! While to the majority today is just the second of March, I grew up in a house that celebrated Texas Independence Day. To show my Texas pride I pulled out one of my many Texas tees. This teecomes in four colors (black, white, light grey, and heather grey) and has a comfortable lose fit (wearing a small). TheEasy shop FamousBasicshas some great simple tees, but this was my favorite for obvious reasons. I paired the tee with my favorite pair of classic skinny jeans from Gapand my black cowboy boots. I have had these Corral Vintage cowboy boots (similar) for years and they have held up really well through plenty of wear and tear (I am on the hunt for a new pair of brown boots, send your suggestions my way!). To complete my look, I added these fun Kate Spade armadillo earrings. They are a few years old, but I linked a similar pair in silver. I have linked this look and some similar tees below, so you can show your Texas pride! P.S. sorry the sun was going down while shooting this look, but I had to get in one “horns down” picture as a former OU Sooner 🙂 xoxo
Valentine’s Day is only a week away! While my date night with Alex will consist of cooking and watching movies in leggings and a sweatshirt (a much needed night in), I am sharing my two favorite Valentine’s outfits for any date. My first Valentine’s outfit is more casual and is perfect for dinner, a movie or to wear to the office. I found this knit sweater last year at H&M, and it is back in stock for under $20. It goes perfectly with dark denim for winter and white/light denim for chilly spring days. I added my favorite red heels (similar) and a classic red lip to make this light pink sweater a little more festive. After years of struggling with red lipstick (especially in dance competitions) I have finally mastered a non-messy red lip that will last all day. I start by lining my lips with Chanel Lip Definer #57, the color is very versatile and I love the thin brush at the end of the pencil. After lining my lips I fill in with Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Sarafine and use the brush on the end of the Chanel lip pencil to evenly spread the color, I like this color because it has blue undertones and will make your teeth look whiter. This liquid lipstick is great because it dries matte and will last for hours, even through meals. However, I recommend removing and reapplying the lipstick (with chapstick) after about 4-5 hours, because it will start to dry out your lips.
My second Valentine’s outfit is little dressier, for a nice dinner or night out. This light pink flounce dress is only $60 and can easily be dressed up or down depending on your accessories. This fabric of the dress has a great weight and it has pockets (major win), I only wish it came in more colors, specifically black. The dress fits very loose, so I am wearing an XS because it fit best in the arms. I kept this look simple by just adding red heels and a stack of gold bracelets, but it can also be dressed up with a statement necklace, structured jacket, or strappy heels. If you have a more casual evening planned, but still want to wear a dress, you can dress this look down with a denim jacket, wedges or mules, and minimal jewelry. Both of these looks are also great for a Galentine’s party or a festive Valentines look for the office. I have linked everything you need to recreate these Valentine’s outfits below! xoxo
